Established in 1973 as the Isle of Wight Veteran Machinery Club, the club changed its name to Vectis Historic Vehicle Club in 1980 and was incorporated in 2013. Today, the club is a friendly and passionate group of historic vehicle enthusiasts with over 190 members.
The club is active throughout the year, organising a wide variety of events including Sunday Tea Runs. It also provides static vehicle displays at well-known Island events such as the Isle of Wight County Show, Garlic Festival, Bembridge Festival and various village and school fetes.
The club’s main show is also its biggest charity fundraising event for Island charities, regularly attracting over 200 cars from VHVC and other Island classic car clubs. The popular event draws hundreds of visitors and provides an opportunity to see a wide range of historic and classic vehicles.
Vectis Historic Vehicle Club also takes part in joint activities with other Island clubs and welcomes mainland clubs visiting the Isle of Wight. A club newsletter is issued by email every two months, keeping members informed about club news and activities.
