The Isle of Wight Area Triumph Sports Six Club was formed in 1988 and has been bringing together Triumph enthusiasts on the Island ever since. Many of the cars remain on the Isle of Wight, with some having been owned by more than one club member.
The club’s evening meetings are held alongside other Triumph Clubs at The Woodman Arms in Wootton on the third Monday of each month. There are also Sunday meetings, which include a drive out and generally finish somewhere for a cup of tea or lunch and a chat. The club also holds an annual Isle of Wight Triumph Weekend.
The national Triumph Sports Six Club (TSSC) was founded in 1977 by the late Paul Swanson. Originally catering for small chassis-based cars such as the Herald, Spitfire, Vitesse and GT6, the club also included the Bond Equipe and Specials based on Herald and Spitfire chassis or mechanicals. In 2002, the TSSC expanded its aims to promote and preserve all Standard-Triumph vehicles and their derivatives, welcoming owners and enthusiasts of all Standard-Triumph cars.
The TSSC is based at its Leicestershire headquarters, which includes a shop and Triumph Museum. The club organises social events and trips at European, national and regional levels, including events such as the Le Mans Classic, Laon Historique and SPA Classic, with its credo being “Do More with Your Triumph!”
