The Isle of Wight Area Triumph Sports Six Club was formed way back in 1988 and has been going strong ever since. Lots of the cars are still around on the Island and many have been owned by more than one member.
The meetings have, for the last few years, been alongside other Triumph Clubs and it is great to meet with like-minded enthusiasts. Evening meetings of the Triumph Sports Six Club are at The Woodman Arms in Wootton on the third Monday of the month. To encourage some more of you out and about, we will be having meetings on some Sundays, which will be a drive out and generally finish somewhere for a cup of tea or lunch and a natter.
There is an annual Isle of Wight Triumph Weekend event.
The national Triumph Sports Six Club was founded in 1977 by the late Paul Swanson, the Triumph Sports Six Club (TSSC) traditionally catered for small chassis-based cars including the Herald, Spitfire, Vitesse, GT6, Bond Equipe and Specials based on the Herald/Spitfire chassis or mechanicals.
In 2002, the Club’s 25th Anniversary year, the TSSC took on additional aims including the promotion and preservation of all Standard-Triumph vehicles and their derivatives, opening its doors to owners and enthusiasts of all Standard-Triumph cars.
Based at its own Leicestershire Headquarters, which includes a shop and a Triumph Museum, the TSSC aims to preserve and promote the Triumph marque and help members enjoy their Triumph to the full.
With the Club’s credo of “Do More with Your Triumph!”, during the year, several social events and trips are organised on a European (Le Mans Classic, Laon Historique, SPA Classic), National and Regional Area basis. Check your local area for details.
