Wight Classics is a friendly garage that offers restoration, repairs and maintenance for classic and vintage cars.
We are careful to research the needs for a wide variety of cars, from pre-war sports cars to 70s and 80s saloons. However, we don’t generally work on cars that rely upon electronic systems: “If the car thinks for itself, then it’s not for us“.
Our Team at Wight Classics
Charlie and Nigel run the mechanical side of the workshop and the three bring a wealth of experience and knowledge. Proprietor Tim Addison is a long-standing classic car owner. He also has an association with classic motorsport, having been part of the original organising team for the International Historic Festival (now Silverstone Classic) at Silverstone in 1990. Tim is still involved with motor racing as the promoter of the Island’s first closed-road motorsport event since the 1950s – the 2022 Sandown Sprint, part of the Isle of Wight Speed Trials.
Wight Classics is one of the few Island garages that is confident to work on pre-war vehicles. Our engineering shop means that many unavailable parts can be made and repaired in-house.
Full In-House Facilities
Having been founded in 2013, Wight Classics moved to Arreton Barns in 2014. The workshop has two inspection ramps as well as an engineering shop for engine and transmission rebuilds. Alongside is a large bodywork preparation space with a full-sized spray booth.
The team at Wight Classics work hard to provide value for money and we are never too busy to discuss car issues with our customers.
