It’s now just two weeks until the Isle of Wight’s largest classic car event takes place in Newport and Ryde on Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th September 2016. As ever the Isle of Wight Classic Car Extravaganza is free to visit and looking to be the largest event ever in its 15th year. As well as the incredibly diverse range of UK and European classic cars and motorcycles there will be a great turn-out of impressive American cars; “The Big Boys are coming back…”
Classic Car Extravaganza in its 15th year
On Saturday 17th the show takes place on Newport Quay with the cars all moving across to Ryde Esplanade (near the Canoe Lake) on Sunday 18th, the cars are on display from 11am to 5:30pm on both days, so there’s plenty of opportunity to get down and see the event. There is always a wide range of car clubs represented, so you can often enjoy cars as diverse as a DeLorean and a Morris Minor, including this year the ever-popular Fiat 500 Club.
The event is organised by Victor Gallucci and all proceeds from the weekend will go to charity. It is supported by a wide range of local businesses including Wightlink Ferries and the Isle of Wight County Press with the Round Table helping with marshalling.
It’s amazing that such a fantastic show can be organised with free admission and it really is a labour of love for those involved. There’s genuinely something for everyone so make sure you don’t miss this year’s Extravaganza.
