The Island Car Centre Sandown Sprint (Isle of Wight Speed Trials) will return to Culver Parade over the weekend of 20th and 21st April 2024.
The first closed-road motor racing event held on the Isle of Wight was staged in April 2022. Now the dates for its return in 2024 have been confirmed.
Competitor entries will open at 6pm on Friday, 15th December, with spectator tickets now on sale. In order to enter the Sandown Sprint 2024, follow this link to the Isle of Wight Car Club.
What’s new for Sandown Sprint 2024?
A new Race Village will be created at Fort Street and Sandham Gardens. Spectators can see all the cars assembled near the main entrance and enjoy getting up close to the cars and drivers. In addition, general admission tickets will now include access to the Race Village, the main Culver Parade viewing area and the Brown’s enclosure.
Tickets are now on sale via the tickets page. Once again, overall spectator numbers will be limited, so motor racing fans are advised to book early. Adult tickets cost just £10 per day if purchased in advance with an early bird weekend offer.
The Sandown Sprint 2024 involves around 100 cars competing on a specially constructed circuit, at Sandown’s Culver Parade, with the start in Fort Street and finishing in Yaverland. The track has been slightly extended this year with the finish line outside The Grand Hotel.
The event’s main sponsor, and also one of the competitors, is Will Nicholls from the Island Car Centre. Will commented, “The Sprint is a fantastic opportunity to bring motor racing to the Isle of Wight. We now have a great following of people and the crowd really gets behind the drivers. I’ll be entering a car again and looking forward to hopefully regaining my title.”
