Mark Clegg from Wight Classics recently announced some interesting changes at the popular Isle of Wight classic car specialist garage based at Arreton Barns, “We’re pleased to let you know that we are planning a few changes here in 2019.”
“My wife Jackie is determined to retire this year and properly this time! We have to see this as an opportunity to evolve Wight Classics and to move forward. Next year, Tim Addison will be joining the business to work with me and take responsibility for the business administration. This at last will allow me to concentrate fully on what I do best,” commented Mark.
Like Mark, Tim also has a long association with classic cars and was part of the organising team at Silverstone for the first Historic Festival in 1990. He spent ten years working on many other vintage and historic race events as well as the annual Norwich Union Classic. Tim has also participated in classic events such as LEJOG and the Throckmorton Challenge as well as many 12-car rallies.
Wight Classics will aim to increase the capacity of its coachworks, which will speed up turnaround times for both small and larger bodywork projects. The team are also looking to provide a range of new services which are aimed at supporting classic car owners, including annual safety checks and servicing. Perfect for those owners whose cars now don’t require an MOT test, but would appreciate the reassurance of regular service and checkover.
